Webinar: family concerns regarding donation

On October 8th, the NTS organized a free webinar about family concerns regarding donation. You can watch the webinar back.

About the webinar

Radboudumc has conducted research into family concerns regarding donation.

In this webinar, we briefly discuss the research and professionals talk to each other about the concerns they encounter from families in practice and how best to discuss these with families.

Research results in brief: what are the concerns?

Gert Olthuis, associate professor at the Department of Ethics of Health Care at Radboudumc, led a study on donation conversations following the amendment of the Donor Act in 2020.

The research question:

  • What concerns arise during donation conversations?
  • How do these 'difficult issues' manifest themselves?
  • How do intensivists and ICU nurses react to them?

Main concerns

Read the article where Gert Olthuis talks more about the research. What are the six main concerns?
