Final report five-year evaluation: ‘NTS effective and efficient’

This year, the NTS was evaluated for the period 2020–2024 by research agency KWINK. This is in line with the policy of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) to evaluate independent administrative bodies every five years.

On October 30, 2025, the final report Evaluation of the Dutch Transplant Foundation 2020-2024 was made public and presented to the House of Representatives.

Conclusion Minister of VWS

The Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport has included a nice parliamentary letter with the report. He concludes: 'The evaluation shows that the NTS carries out its task effectively and efficiently. The recommendations focus primarily on further increasing this. I am confident that the NTS will take up its role as chain director here and, together with its partners, ensure a fair, smart and future-proof donation and transplantation process for organs and tissues.' We at the NTS are very happy with that.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this evaluation! It is great to see that the efforts of the NTS and its partners are being recognized. The report shows that we have taken clear steps in professionalization, increasing efficiency, and clarifying the role of the NTS.
