Explanation of this report
In this report, you see the number of transplants in the Netherlands per year. A patient can receive organs from a deceased or a living donor:

How can I request data from the NTS?
- Are you a journalist or student and do you need specific data? Then submit a request via info@transplantatiestichting.nl. Clearly indicate which data you are looking for and for what purpose. Unfortunately, we cannot fulfill all requests due to privacy and legal regulations.

How does the NTS take privacy and legal regulations into account?
The NTS handles personal data with the utmost care. We only publish aggregated data to protect the privacy of donors, surviving relatives, and recipients. The NTS complies with:
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Organ Donation Act (Wod). This states that organ and tissue donation is anonymous. The donor's surviving relatives do not know who received the organs and tissues. The recipient also does not know who their new organ came from.
Our figures are therefore never traceable to individuals. They are always presented in categories or larger numbers.
