Organization & Governance

Naomi Nathan is director of the Dutch Transplantation Foundation (NTS). The supervisory board appoints, advises, and oversees the organization. The NTS management team consists of the director and 5 department managers.

Naomi Nathan

Naomi Nathan (1967) has been the director of the NTS since February 1, 2023. Before that, she worked at Haaglanden Medisch Centrum (HMC), where she was director of the HMC Cancer Center from 2018 and also managed the renovation and harmonization of mother and child care as a cluster manager. In this and previous work as a project leader at Erasmus MC and as a consultant and interim director, she gained extensive experience in the (re)design and optimization of care processes and the establishment of care networks. She was trained as a technical physicist and also has a business administration background.

Robin Kleijwegt

Robin Kleijwegt (1972) has been manager of Information Provision at the NTS since 2019. With his department, he deploys ICT and data for a properly functioning donation and transplantation process. This includes developing and managing applications and dashboards that are crucial for the transplantation process, such as systems for waiting list management, donor recognition, and the allocation of organs and tissues. Practically his entire working life has been spent at the intersection of healthcare and ICT, including roles as a business analyst, manager, project leader, and security officer. He studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Twente.

Eveline van Dieten

Eveline van Dieten (1970) has been manager of the Donor Information, Communication and Education department at the NTS since 2021. Her department ensures clear information about donation and transplantation, supports the medical field with communication and training, and serves as an information hub for the media. She has worked in healthcare for over twenty years in the field of communication and public affairs, including at the KNMG physicians' federation, Haaglanden Medisch Centrum, and VVAA/MediRisk.

Joyce Deggens

Joyce Deggens (1962) has been Policy Manager at the NTS since 2023. Previously, she was director-board member of the College of Healthcare Education, senior policy advisor at the Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres, and worked as an ICU nurse and manager in acute care. The Policy team translates social developments, laws and regulations, and medical innovations into clear, actionable policy. We work closely with our collaborative partners. This is how we ensure that the Dutch transplantation system remains fair, transparent, and future-proof.

Johan Jansen

Johan Jansen (1974) has been Operations Manager at the NTS since 2023. His department includes the Organ Centre, which supports healthcare professionals 24/7 with donor registration and donation coordination. Previously, he worked for 25 years in various healthcare organizations, including Bernhoven Hospital and care organization Pleyade. Johan studied Medicine and Business Administration.

Evert Jan Bos

Evert Jan Bos (1982) has been Operations Manager at NTS since 2023. He leads the Legal Affairs, HR, Finance, Facility Management, and Quality teams, which together ensure that all supporting processes concerning donation and transplantation run smoothly. He previously worked at VNU, Jaarbeurs, and the Health Base Foundation.

The supervisory board

The supervisory board monitors the quality of NTS's work by, among other things, approving the budget, the strategic plan, and the annual financial statements. The supervisory board also oversees strategic goals and societal impact. The supervisory board consists of chair Stefan Berger, Henk Smid, Carin Gorter, Marcel Levi, and Theo Koster.
