Project
New Donor Dossier Program
With the New Donor Dossier (NDD) program, the NTS supports a smart and future-proof organ and tissue donation and transplantation process in the Netherlands.
Go directly to
We are investing in modern applications and optimizing donation processes where possible. This increases productivity, improves collaboration, and ensures we are ready for the future.
Reason
The donation steps are currently supported by various information systems and not always via digital routes. Sharing information between collaborative partners is complex. Renewal is therefore necessary. We are doing this step by step, with modern IT solutions and smart technological innovations.
What is the goal?
With the new digital donor dossier (NDD) and modern IT solutions, the NTS is working on a future-proof donation process. We are renewing step by step, with the goal of a process that is smarter, safer, and better connected.
- Smart process support
- Stronger collaboration in the chain
- Future-proof technology
- Reliable information provision
Room for innovation
The donation process is subject to renewal. There are constant ideas to improve or supplement the process. Flexible design makes it possible to respond quickly to changing needs and ideas from practice.
Collaboration
The Dutch Transplant Foundation (NTS) coordinates this program. We carry it out in close collaboration with professionals and partners involved in the steps of the donation procedure. We inventory their wishes and, where possible, incorporate them into the program.
Approach and planning
The program runs from 2024 through 2028. During this period, we will renew the various steps of the donation process. We work on a project basis and build new solutions in phases, with room for testing, learning, and improving.
In 2026, the project isOptimization of organ and tissue donor identificationcompleted. We will also start a second project in 2026: Organ file: screening, reporting, and tracking.
Other topics that will be covered in this program include the tissue dossier (screening, reporting, retrieval, and follow-up) and the optimization of bereavement care.
Donor Recognition Optimization Project
In the Donor Recognition Optimization project, we improved the first three steps of the donation process: donor recognition, consultation, and the donation interview.
